Synthetic graphite is a manufactured product, created through high-temperature treatment of amorphous carbon materials. In the majority of cases, the principal raw materials employed in the manufacture of synthetic graphite are calcined petroleum coke and coal tar pitch, which are composed of highly graphitizable forms of carbon.
