RP Graphite Electrode, also known as ordinary power graphite electrode, is an artificial graphite product made from high-quality petroleum coke and asphalt through a special process.

RP Graphite Electrode has the following characteristics:

Production process 

 

Raw material preparation: Select high-quality petroleum coke as aggregate and asphalt as binder. These raw materials must be strictly screened and inspected to ensure that they meet production requirements.
Calcination: The petroleum coke is calcined at high temperature to remove volatiles and impurities in it, and to improve the density and conductivity of the raw materials.
Crushing and screening: The calcined petroleum coke is crushed and screened to obtain aggregate particles of specified size.
Batching and kneading: Aggregate particles, fine powder and asphalt are batched in a certain proportion, and then kneaded under heating to form a plastic paste.
Molding: The kneaded paste is molded in a mold to obtain a green body with a certain shape and density.
Baking: The green body is placed in a baking furnace for high-temperature baking to carbonize the asphalt and generate bonding coke, thereby obtaining a baked carbon electrode.
Impregnation and graphitization: In order to improve the density and mechanical strength of the electrode, multiple impregnation and graphitization treatments are usually required. Impregnation is to press the liquid impregnant into the pores of the electrode and then calcine it; graphitization is to graphitize the calcined electrode at high temperature to convert it into a graphite electrode with a graphite crystalline structure.
Machining: The graphitized electrode is subjected to surface turning, end face machining, and screw hole machining for connection to meet the use requirements.
