Production process
The production process of HP Graphite Electrode mainly includes the following steps:

Raw material preparation: Select high-quality petroleum coke and needle coke as aggregates and coal tar as binders. These raw materials need to be strictly screened and inspected to ensure that their quality meets production requirements.
Calcination: The raw materials are calcined to remove volatiles and impurities and improve the density and conductivity of the raw materials.
Crushing and screening: The calcined raw materials are crushed and screened to obtain aggregate particles of specified sizes.
Batching and kneading: Aggregate particles, fine powder and binder are batched in a certain proportion, and then kneaded under heating to form a plastic paste.
Molding: The kneaded paste is molded in a mold to obtain a green body with a certain shape and density.
Firing: The green body is placed in a calcining furnace for high-temperature calcining to carbonize the binder and generate bonding coke, thereby obtaining a baked carbon electrode.
Impregnation and graphitization: In order to improve the density and mechanical strength of the electrode, multiple impregnation and graphitization treatments are required. Impregnation is to press the liquid impregnant into the pores of the electrode and then bake it; graphitization is to graphitize the baked electrode at a high temperature to convert it into a graphite electrode with a graphite crystalline structure.
Machining: The graphitized electrode is subjected to mechanical processing such as surface turning, end face processing, and screw hole processing for connection to meet the use requirements.
