Product Introduction

Graphite electrode processing leftovers and high-temperature graphitized calcined waste are used to make high-carbon graphite electrode powder, a carbonaceous substance. It is produced using procedures including screening, pulverizing, and crushing. High carbon content, low nitrogen and sulfur levels, low electrical resistivity, and low ash content are characteristics of the product.

Method of Production

The following steps are mostly involved in the manufacturing of high-carbon graphite electrode powder:

  • 1. Preparation and Pre-treatment of Raw Materials

The raw materials are high-temperature graphitized calcined trash and debris from graphite electrode production. To get rid of contaminants and any inferior parts, the materials are first sorted and cleansed.

  • 2. Crushing and Coarse Crushing

Coarse crushing is applied to large raw material bits. In order to prepare the material for the next stage of pulverization, crushing equipment lowers the material to an appropriate lump size.

  • 3. Grinding and Pulverization

A Raymond mill or other equipment is used to finely grind the crushed material. Powder products with certain particle size requirements are created by adjusting the parameters of the grinding process.

  • 4. Classification and Screening

Vibrating screening machine is used to classify the ground powder. To guarantee product homogeneity, it is carefully sorted in accordance with customer-specified particle size criteria.

  • 5. Magnetic Separation to Eliminate Impurities

To further improve product purity, magnetic separation is used to extract magnetic contaminants from the powder.

  • 6. Packaging and Testing

After passing physicochemical testing, finished goods are packed and stored in accordance with regulations.

Benefits of the Product

High Fixed Carbon Content: A carbon content of more than 99% guarantees consistent and dependable quality.

Low Impurity Content: Defined by low amounts of ash (≤0.4%), nitrogen (≤150–250 ppm), and sulfur (≤0.03%).

Superior Electrical Conductivity: High electrical conductivity and low resistance.

Good Chemical Stability: Resistant to corrosion by the majority of acids and alkalis and chemically stable at normal temperature.

Low Thermal Expansion Coefficient: Outstanding resistance to thermal shock and good thermal stability.

Customizable Particle Size: To satisfy client needs, a range of specifications are available, from granules to fine powders.

Application Domains

  • 1. The Metallurgical Sector (Main Use)

Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Steelmaking: A very effective recarburizer that increases the strength and hardness of molten steel by stabilizing its carbon content.

Foundry Industry: A specialist recarburizer that enhances graphite nodularization and lowers casting flaws for ductile iron, gray iron, and alloy castings.

  • 2. Batteries with New Energy

High-purity grades can be further processed into auxiliary materials for lithium-ion battery anodes. Ultrafine powder is used as a conductive agent for lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries, improving electrode conductivity and maximizing cycle life and charge-discharge efficiency.

  • 3. Antistatic and Conductive Materials

Applications include electromagnetic shielding materials, conductive coatings, antistatic rubber and plastic fillers, conductive inks, and cable shielding layers.

  • 4. Refractories and the Chemical Industry

raw materials for making graphite crucibles and molds; solid lubricants for high-temperature equipment; fillers for anti-corrosion furnace linings and additives for refractory bricks.
