Product Introduction
Semi-graphitized petroleum coke (SGPC, also known as medium-temperature graphitized petroleum coke) is a product obtained by using calcined petroleum coke as raw material, undergoing high-temperature graphitization treatment to produce a physicochemical reaction and remove impurities such as sulfur and ash. It is sometimes referred to as artificial graphite or a recarburizer.
Application Areas: Due to its unique physicochemical properties, 6-10mm semi-graphitized petroleum coke is widely used in the following industrial fields:
1. Iron and Steel Smelting and Casting Industry – Main Recarburizer Use: As an ideal carbon recarburizer, it is widely used in cast steel, cast iron, and precision casting processes. By supplementing the carbon element in molten metal, it adjusts the carbon content and improves the mechanical properties of the metal, such as hardness and wear resistance. It is particularly suitable for efficient carbon recovery in induction furnaces and ladle metallurgy, as well as in low- and medium-power electric arc furnace steelmaking and the production of ductile iron and gray cast iron parts. The 6-10mm medium-coarse particle size is suitable for smelting processes requiring rapid dissolution and uniform dispersion of carbon elements, and it performs excellently in electric furnace recarburization and ladle refining.
2. Casting Covering Agent
It can be used as a covering agent in the casting process to protect the surface of castings from oxidation and nitriding, thereby improving the surface quality of castings.
3. Aluminum Smelting
Utilizing its partially graphitized structure, it can be applied to the production of cathodes and anode blocks.
4. Refractory Materials and Metallurgical Auxiliary Materials
Widely used in the production of advanced refractory materials and coatings, carbon products, etc., it can also be used in the production of self-baking electrodes, suitable for continuous smelting equipment such as ferroalloy furnaces and calcium carbide furnaces.
