Low Sulphur High Carbon Semi Graphitized Petroleum Coke

Low-sulfur, high-carbon semi-graphitized petroleum coke is a carbon material made from high-quality petroleum coke through high-temperature graphitization (above 2800°C). Its fixed carbon content is as high as 98.5%-99.5%, and its sulfur content is less than 0.05%-0.5%. It has a porous structure, high conductivity, excellent chemical stability and high temperature tolerance. This product balances performance and cost and is widely used in metallurgy, lithium batteries, chemical industry and other fields.

Production process

Raw material pretreatment:

The combined process of residual oil hydrogenation-delayed coking is adopted to reduce the sulfur content by optimizing the raw material ratio. High-sulfur crude oil refineries can produce low-sulfur petroleum coke (sulfur content ≤ 0.5%) by controlling the ratio of catalytic oil slurry and desulfurized residual oil.

High-temperature calcination and graphitization:

The petroleum coke is calcined at 1300°C in a rotary kiln to remove volatiles, and then treated in a high-temperature graphitization furnace (above 2800°C) to form a partial graphitized structure to improve electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity.

Grading and impurity removal:

The particle size (0.2-10mm) is controlled by screening equipment, and impurities are removed by physical or chemical methods to ensure product purity.
