One Rule of Thumb

Match particle size to your furnace capacity:

Furnace ≤ 1 ton → 0.5–2.5 mm

1–3 tons → 2.5–5 mm

3–10 tons → 5–20 mm

Using the wrong size can drop carbon yield from 90% to 60%, increase slag waste, and weaken final product strength. A 20-30% efficiency loss is common.
