Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a high-purity recarburizer specially developed for foundry production. It is produced by heating qualified petroleum coke under ultra-high temperature above 2800℃, turning its internal carbon structure into ordered graphite crystal form.

As a reliable carbon additive for molten iron, it works well in induction furnaces and cupola furnaces. It helps foundries adjust carbon content accurately, reduce casting defects and keep stable production quality. It is widely accepted for grey iron, ductile iron and other high-quality casting parts.

Usage Tips

 

  • Best to add together with scrap steel at early melting stage for better carbon absorption.
  • Match particle size with your furnace: fine size for small induction furnace; coarser size for large furnace to reduce burning loss.
  • Store in dry environment, keep away from moisture. Standard packing: 1MT jumbo bag, small bag packing available.

Q: What is the difference between GPC and ordinary calcined petroleum coke?

A: GPC goes through 2800℃+ graphitization treatment. It has much lower sulfur & nitrogen, higher carbon absorption, fewer casting defects. Though unit price is higher, total melting cost can be reduced for longrun production.

Q: Which particle size should I choose for my foundry?

A: 0.21mm works for smallmedium induction furnace; 15mm suits large furnace or cupola. We can recommend proper size once you tell us your furnace type and melting capacity.

Q: Can you supply test sample before bulk order?

A: Yes, small sample is available for your lab or onsite melting test.
