Artificial graphite usually refers to graphite materials obtained by a series of high-temperature graphitization treatments using high-quality petroleum coke and asphalt coke as aggregates, adding coal tar as a binder and other auxiliary materials. Generally, the raw materials are put into a special high-temperature reactor for graphitization and purification after preliminary treatment. The main furnace types are Acheson graphitization furnace, internal heat series graphitization furnace and continuous graphitization electric furnace. The ultra-high temperature of the high-temperature furnace is mainly used to graphitize petroleum coke and asphalt coke, and halogen gas is introduced to react with impurities to gasify and volatilize them, thereby obtaining high-purity graphite.

Although the high-temperature calcination process can be used to remove some impurities in petroleum coke and asphalt coke during the production of artificial high-purity graphite, there are clear requirements for the sulfur content and ash content in the petroleum coke raw materials. With the increasing use of high-sulfur crude oil, high-sulfur petroleum coke is also increasing. In order to make the sulfur content of petroleum coke meet the sulfur content requirements of low-sulfur petroleum coke for the production of artificial high-purity graphite, a reasonable and efficient petroleum coke desulfurization process has been deeply explored by many scholars .

Here are some key features of artificial high-purity graphite:

1. High purity: The carbon content of artificial high-purity graphite is usually more than 99.99%, which makes it extremely chemically stable and has excellent physical properties.

2. High conductivity: The electrical conductivity of high-purity graphite is second only to copper and silver, so it is widely used in the electronics industry.

3. High thermal stability: It has good stability at high temperatures and can maintain its physical and chemical properties in high temperature environments.

4. High corrosion resistance: It has high corrosion resistance to most chemicals and is suitable for corrosion-resistant parts in the chemical industry.

5. Good mechanical properties: It has high strength and hardness, and has certain toughness, which makes it advantageous in manufacturing wear-resistant and impact-resistant parts.

6. Other characteristics: High-purity graphite also has excellent lubrication properties, low thermal expansion coefficient, and good light transmittance.

The purity of graphite determines the performance and comprehensive performance of graphite deep-processing products. The higher the purity of graphite, the higher the application value. Graphite purification is the basis for the preparation of all graphite materials and is a common problem in the development of graphite materials. The graphite purification process with low energy consumption, high production capacity and less pollution is the focus of current research and development. The high-purity graphite of Zhong carbon energy Co., Ltd. has a fixed carbon content of 99.3%, a sulfur content of 0.02%, and an absorption rate of more than 93%. It plays an important role in the foundry industry, not only improving the quality of castings, but also reducing production costs.
